Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this role include:
Maintaining, improving, and scaling ecommerce websites across multiple brands.
Developing and managing front-end experiences using Next.js and React.
Building responsive, mobile-first user interfaces with robust UX standards.
Developing back-end systems using Node.js, including APIs, integrations, and workflows.
Managing and optimizing ecommerce functionalities using Medusa or similar headless commerce platforms.
Customizing checkout flows, cart functionalities, product pages, and order processes.
Maintaining product catalog systems, inventory integrations, and pricing logic.
Supporting CMS environments such as Sanity or Strapi for dynamic content management.
Building landing pages, promotional pages, and scalable content structures.
Improving website speed, Core Web Vitals, and overall technical performance.
Quickly troubleshooting bugs, errors, outages, and production issues.
Implementing technical SEO best practices including structured data and site architecture.
Supporting analytics implementation, conversion tracking, and performance reporting.
Collaborating with marketing and leadership teams on launches, promotions, and growth campaigns.
Recommending and implementing improvements that increase conversions and customer experience.
Building systems with scalability in mind for increased traffic, sales volume, and future integrations.
Required Skills
Applicants must meet the following hard requirements:
A minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Full Stack Developer, Ecommerce Developer, or similar role.
Strong proficiency in Next.js and React development.
Proficient in Node.js for backend development and API creation.
Proven experience with headless ecommerce platforms such as Medusa.
Experience with CMS platforms like Sanity or Strapi.
Strong knowledge of responsive design and mobile-first development practices.
Proven track record in optimizing website speed, performance, and Core Web Vitals.
Strong understanding of ecommerce workflows including checkout, orders, inventory, and product management.
Familiarity with third-party integrations and automation tools.
Ability to debug and resolve issues in live production environments.
Knowledge of implementing technical SEO and analytics tracking.
Capacity to manage multiple projects and brands simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently, demonstrating an ownership mindset.
A portfolio of ecommerce or web development projects to showcase is required.
Schedule and Hours
This position demands a commitment of 40 hours per week. The work schedule is from Monday to Friday, with hours from 9 AM to 6 PM Eastern Standard Time Zone.
Offer
The salary is structured on a gradual basis:
For the first 12 weeks, the salary is $1100 CAD/month.
From week 13 onward, the salary increases to $1500 CAD/month.
