Metalab has announced the availability of a Design Operations Manager position for a 14-month contract starting May 2024 that welcomes applicants within +/- 5 hours of PT. The role focuses on refining and implementing processes, coordination, and communication within a 60+ designer and researcher team. The manager will work on a global scale to foster organizational excellence and advocate for the team's needs, streamlining workflows to boost productivity while maintaining a robust design culture.
Responsibilities include managing daily operations, developing long-term department strategies, maintaining process documentation, and handling department-wide communications. The role involves translating team feedback into tangible improvements, leading cultural initiatives, and optimizing design tools to increase efficiency. Moreover, the manager will be involved in knowledge sharing, success metrics, hiring, learning and development, resource management, as well as budgeting and planning with senior leadership support.
The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in design operations and program management. A confident communicator who can work independently and collaboratively, the candidate should have a history of supporting creative teams and managing complex, cross-functional projects. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking skills are critical to the role.
The pay range for the position, if filled in BC, Canada, is CAD $115,000 - $130,000. However, salary may vary based on the candidate's location and market conditions for those applying from outside BC.
