The Role of a Compensation Manager

Sunnova is actively seeking a Compensation Manager who will have a significant role in assisting the Senior Manager of Compensation & Benefits. The role involves the development, maintenance, and administration of various compensation programs and frameworks. This position is critical in supporting Sunnova's vision by ensuring that compensation structures remain competitive and are aligned with the company's strategic objectives. The Compensation Manager will tackle complex projects, including, but not limited to, compensation frameworks, job architecture, sales incentive plans, and the creation of compensation metrics reports. This role demands precision and accuracy to uphold the effectiveness and fairness of compensation practices.

Key Responsibilities

The Compensation Manager will be tasked with several core responsibilities. These include developing and maintaining compensation structures to ensure they remain competitive and aligned with organizational objectives. They will carry out evaluations of job responsibilities and determine FLSA classifications to ensure compliance. Administering sales incentive plans is another critical responsibility, encompassing their design, implementation, and ongoing management. The role also involves participating in the annual compensation cycle, covering salary planning, merit increases, and bonus allocations. Generating reports on various compensation metrics and analyzing data to provide insights and improvement recommendations is vital. The Compensation Manager will also partake in compensation surveys, collecting relevant data and reporting outcomes that inform decisions. Conducting compensation audits ensures accuracy, fairness, and compliance with internal policies and regulations.



Qualifications and Experience

To qualify for the Compensation Manager position, a candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, along with at least 5 years of experience in compensation management or related HR roles. Proficiency in designing and maintaining compensation structures and demonstrated experience in job architecture and responsibility evaluation are required. In-depth knowledge of FLSA regulations and experience administering sales incentive plans, along with strong analytical skills to interpret data, are crucial. Attention to detail, accuracy in work, teamwork skills, and effective communication capabilities are essential attributes. While not mandated, a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation is preferred.
