Join Close as the Head of Demand Generation, leading initiatives to drive new trials & sales. Bring your expertise in B2B SaaS marketing to a fully remote team.

About Close

Close is a self-funded, profitable company boasting a fully remote team of approximately 90 members dedicated to helping startups and small-to-medium-sized businesses (SMBs). Their mission since 2013 has been to develop a customer relationship management (CRM) platform centered on enhancing communication while eliminating the need for manual data entry and overcomplicated user interfaces. Their CRM aims to double the productivity of sales representatives.

Role Overview

The Head of Demand Generation at Close will be at the forefront of increasing new free trial sign-ups. You will be leading a team tasked with utilizing various channels such as paid digital, sponsorships, partnerships, email campaigns, and field events. This role is crucial as Close operates without an outbound sales team; thus, the responsibility of generating and capturing demand falls upon your position through the promotion of free trials.

You will possess an in-depth understanding of paid digital strategies but will also be open to exploring new methods to stimulate demand. Initially, you will have one direct report, with opportunities to expand your team conditioned on the success and impact of your chosen channels and strategic approaches. Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing, you will collaborate with other marketing heads, particularly in product and content marketing segments.

Who We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have at least six years of experience in demand generation, campaign management, or performance marketing with a deep focus on B2B SaaS, catering to a broad range of SMB audiences. They should also bring a minimum of three years of leadership experience within the marketing sector.

The candidate should display a proficiency in defining target audiences, leveraging a wide array of marketing channels for results-specifically generating trial sign-ups-and managing spend effectively while rigorously evaluating marketing resources. Expertise in SEM and analytical tools, including Google's product suite (Analytics, AdSense, Search Console), Ahrefs, and Customer.io, is essential. We are looking for a thought-provoking leader who is based in the US and is capable of motivating and developing a team.

Key Responsibilities

The role demands the effective management, testing, and optimization of campaigns to drive fresh free trials. It involves leading and building out a demand generation team, fostering their daily responsibilities as well as their career advancement.

The candidate will strategize with the team to identify, trial, and refine various customer acquisition initiatives. They will provide insights and suggestions to senior management on resource allocation for customer acquisition and support the Marketing and Sales teams in improving their results within existing channels. Additionally, monitoring and communicating demand generation campaign spend and ROI is a significant aspect of the job.
