The main mission of the Data Analyst position is to serve as a strategic bridge between raw data engineering and the decision-making processes within the organization. The successful candidate will face challenges transforming complex and heterogeneous large data volumes from multiple sources (including AWS RDS, NoSQL, and APIs) into refined, semantic data layers. This transformation aims to establish a single source of truth where business metrics are consistent, reliable, and easily accessible across the organization via Looker.
The day-to-day responsibilities include:
Development and maintenance of data models using dbt Core, transforming data from Trusted layers to Refinement and Semantic layers.
Dimensional modeling (Star Schema) for creating optimized Fact and Dimension tables in BigQuery.
Building and managing the Semantic Layer, converting technical logics into business-friendly views.
Development of dashboards and data exploration using LookML (Looker).
Ensuring data quality through automated testing and lineage monitoring in dbt.
Documenting technical models and metrics for the company’s data dictionary.
Providing consultative support to stakeholders regarding KPIs and analytical needs.
To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following mandatory skills:
Intermediate/Advanced SQL: Mastery of complex transformations, window functions, CTEs, and optimization techniques for queries.
dbt (Core/Open Source): Practical experience in orchestrating data layers and versioning models.
Data Modeling: Solid knowledge of Star Schema, Snowflake, and data warehousing concepts.
Google Cloud Platform (GCP): Operational experience with BigQuery and Cloud Storage.
Git: Familiarity with version control and collaborative workflows.
Business Intelligence (BI): Experience in creating dashboards using market tools like Looker, Tableau, or PowerBI.
The preferred skills that would help in standing out as a candidate include:
