Responsibilities

The Cloud Solutions Architect will work within the Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) and participate in various projects by:

  • Consulting, designing, and building systems as part of the Secure Sovereign Landing Zone. This initiative is primarily focused on serving the Defence and Cyber & Intelligence sectors.
  • Engaging with stakeholders to gather both functional and non-functional requirements to align with overarching project goals.
  • Creating compliant, sovereign, and secure cloud solutions, utilizing Infrastructure as Code techniques and DevSecOps tooling.
  • Producing high- and low-level designs for Azure and hybrid-cloud systems.
  • Mentoring and training both engineers and management, facilitating the adoption of cloud solutions and embracing emerging technologies.

This role is highly collaborative and dynamic, providing opportunities to work on next-gen defense systems, support software developers, and build proof-of-concept systems.

Skills and Experience Required

To qualify for the Cloud Solutions Architect position, candidates need the following qualifications and experience:

  • Extensive experience in Microsoft Cloud Architecture, including systems design, deployment, and administration.
  • Proven track record in Technical or Team Leadership roles.
  • Microsoft Certification in both Infrastructure and Security pillars, along with substantial experience in designing, deploying, and administering cloud-based solutions.
  • Proficiency in managing and administering both Linux and Windows Operating Systems within large corporate environments.
  • Hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and troubleshooting IP networks, applicable in on-premises, cloud, and hybrid architectures.
  • Development experience using Infrastructure as Code in scripting languages such as Powershell, Python, Typescript, and Bash.
  • The role requires the ability to gain and maintain the highest level of UK Government security clearance.
