Migration & Deployment Activities: The DevOps Engineer is responsible for deploying software using CI/CD tools to ensure seamless software rollouts. Candidates must execute UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and production parallel tests, analyze results, and troubleshoot discrepancies.
Planning & Execution: Candidates must develop detailed migration plans that include risk assessments and rollback strategies. The role also requires conducting pre-mortem calls to discuss potential challenges prior to executing migrations, ensuring minimal downtime.
Batch Scheduling & Automation: The position involves managing and configuring Autosys instances to optimize batch processes and troubleshoot job failures during migration.
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: The DevOps Engineer will document processes and provide relevant teams with necessary knowledge transfer, additionally communicating migration timelines and risks to stakeholders.
To be considered for the role, candidates must possess the following:
A minimum of six years overall software experience.
Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, and SVN.
Hands-on experience with software development, ideally in languages such as Java or Python.
Familiarity with Unix/Linux systems, including scripting and system administration.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot build, testing, and deployment failures during migrations.
Other desired qualifications include:
Experience with scripting languages (Shell, Python, Perl).
Knowledge of database management systems like Sybase and exposure to scheduling tools.
Familiarity with IT change management processes and best practices.
