Position Overview

Movemedical is currently seeking a DevOps Manager to lead their Infrastructure and Operations team. The primary responsibilities include overseeing the building and maintenance of scalable and reliable systems that support surgeries worldwide. This role encompasses managing operational aspects and infrastructure services for Movemedical’s core products, partnering with development teams, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement through leveraging system telemetry.

Key Responsibilities

As a DevOps Manager, your responsibilities will consist of:

  • Leading a global team of 4-5 DevOps engineers.
  • Managing the operational lifecycle of the core product, which includes build and release management as well as production monitoring.
  • Establishing and maintaining detailed runbooks and technical documentation.
  • Collaborating closely with development teams to maintain SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs for critical systems.
  • Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines while eliminating operational toil through infrastructure automation.
  • Overseeing infrastructure costs and managing resource allocation effectively.
  • Handling on-call rotations and serving as the primary incident manager during critical outages.

Required Skills and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates are expected to possess:

  • 5+ years of DevOps experience specifically in managing production environments.
  • At least 2+ years of experience in team management.
  • Proven expertise in service composition and orchestration, particularly using Kubernetes or a similar platform.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code, especially using Terraform.
  • Familiarity with managing enterprise applications in globally distributed environments.
  • Knowledge of establishing system and performance metric dashboards from various data sources.
  • A demonstrated ability to implement both brownfield and greenfield projects.
  • A strong understanding and working knowledge of cloud platforms.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools.
  • An ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with teams across different time zones.
