About the Role

As the Head of People & Culture, you will play a crucial role in the organization by overseeing the full employee lifecycle for the Kironistas. This position involves ensuring smooth internal processes along with fostering an outstanding employee experience. Given that Kiron is undergoing an exciting transitional period, your leadership will be vital in designing and implementing people-centric initiatives.

Your Tasks

  • Coordination and strategic leadership of the full employee lifecycle including:

    • Talent acquisition
    • Onboarding and offboarding
    • Learning & development opportunities
    • Employee wellbeing
    • Rewards and recognition programs
  • Oversight of people operations and payroll systems ensuring accuracy, smooth processing, and GDPR compliance.

  • Managing and leading a team that includes the people & operations manager and the office manager.

  • Engaging in stakeholder management and communication internally with management and the Works Council, and externally with tax advisors, freelancers, and service providers.

  • Depending on your profile, you may also own or collaborate on:

    • Personnel planning and staffing
    • Salary, benefits, and career progression decisions
    • Project budgeting and proposals
    • Coaching other team leaders and managers on leadership and development topics
    • Focused initiatives on culture and organizational development

Your Profile

Ideal candidates share a strong passion for the mission to democratize access to education for refugees and disadvantaged communities globally. You should carry strong qualifications and experience:

  • Have held a senior position in people & culture, preferably with leadership responsibilities, in a fast-paced and adaptable environment.
  • Possess hands-on expertise in people operations, recruiting, and enhancing employee experience.
  • Showcase an ability to balance high-level strategic thinking with practical operational work, enjoying both aspects equally.
  • Be extremely organized, versatile, and capable of handling multiple priorities simultaneously while making informed decisions on the go.
  • Display the capacity to switch between varied topics and work modes (strategic to operational, emotional to analytical) rapidly.
  • Exhibit emotional intelligence and clarity in communication, allowing interaction with diverse stakeholders and finding common ground.
  • Fluency in both English and German is essential.

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • In-depth knowledge of German labor law.
  • Further experience, especially in an NGO or project-based environment, specifically in personnel planning and staffing.
  • A nuanced understanding of the intersection between organizational, financial, legal, and cultural aspects related to people & culture.
  • Experience with organizational development or learning & development roles.
