Position Overview

The Health Guide role involves assisting Transcarent Members in navigating their healthcare journeys effectively. As a concierge and navigator, the Health Guide will help Members make informed health and financial decisions tailored to their specific needs. This role requires a balance of compassionate patient interaction and technical knowledge to ensure all Members feel supported and empowered throughout their healthcare experience.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Health Guide include:

  • Serving as a trusted advisor to Members, utilizing customer service and motivational interviewing skills.
  • Providing motivation, encouragement, and guidance, assisting Members in creating and achieving a vision for their health journey.
  • Offering comprehensive support that includes education, referrals, and concierge activities.
  • Demonstrating exceptional customer service and adapting communication styles to align with the Members’ diverse needs.
  • Building a trustful relationship with Members through interactions across various communication channels, including phone, chat, and email.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidates interested in the Health Guide position are expected to meet the following qualifications:



  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in health-related fields such as healthcare, education, or social work is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service or patient-facing roles within the healthcare industry.
  • An understanding of the healthcare system and familiarity with health insurance.
  • Previous experience with benefits navigation in a call center environment is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills, critical thinking abilities, and proficiency in basic PC applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Zoom).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English; other language skills are a plus.
  • Must have a distraction-free home office with reliable high-speed internet access.

Work Schedule

The Health Guide will work full-time and be available to take calls and respond to concerns from 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM MST (which converts to 12:30 PM - 9:00 PM CST and 1:30 PM - 10:00 PM EST). This flexibility in working hours enables the guide to provide timely support to Members according to their needs.

Salary and Benefits

The compensation for this position is structured as an hourly wage, ranging from $28.00 to $32.00 per hour. Furthermore, Transcarent's total rewards program offers more than just salary.
