Key Responsibilities

As a DevOps Engineer at Particle41, your essential responsibilities will include:

Collaboration and Communication
You will closely collaborate with software developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives. A significant part of your role will involve working on the design, implementation, and maintenance of continuous integration and delivery pipelines. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and configurations.

Automation and Tooling
This position requires you to design, implement, and manage automation processes for software build, deployment, and configuration. You will evaluate, select, and implement tools and technologies that enhance the efficiency of development and deployment processes.

Infrastructure Management
The management and maintenance of cloud-based infrastructures (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.) will fall under your purview to ensure scalability, reliability, and security. You will implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and Pulumi. Furthermore, establishing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automating software delivery phases will be a critical aspect of your role.

Monitoring and Performance
You will develop and implement monitoring solutions that ensure the health and performance of systems and applications. Part of your responsibility includes being proactive about identifying and addressing system performance, reliability, and scalability issues.

Security and Compliance
Implementing security best practices in infrastructure and application deployment will be key. This includes conducting vulnerability assessments, code scanning, and managing access controls to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and company policies.

Troubleshooting and Support
You will provide essential support for development and operations teams, addressing issues related to build failures, deployment problems, and system outages. Participation in an on-call rotation to respond to and resolve critical incidents will also be expected.

Skills and Experience

To be a successful candidate for this position, the following skills and experience are highly valued:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar capacity.
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• In-depth knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience using version control systems, preferably Git.
• Solid understanding of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) concepts and tools.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
