The Rocky Mountain Region Program Manager position is a full-time role offered by the National Forest Foundation (NFF). The responsibilities for the Rocky Mountain Region Program Manager include:
Managing NFF's growing programs across assigned National Forests, focusing on large-scale restoration projects and recreational infrastructure initiatives.
Collaborative engagement with the U.S. Forest Service to develop and manage agreements that guide stewardship and conservation efforts.
Working with various partners to develop scopes of work for multiple large-scale projects aimed at enhancing forest health, reducing wildfire risks, and improving recreation infrastructure.
Leading the recruitment and management of multiple contracts for services related to the implementation of these projects.
Building and maintaining relationships among federal and state agency partners, private landowners, and conservation organizations to facilitate meaningful community-based conservation partnerships.
Supervising a team of up to six project and program Coordinators and Associates, providing them with guidance and support in program execution.
Applicants are expected to possess a combination of educational qualifications and practical experience:
A degree or sufficient experience in conservation, forestry, natural resource management, or environmental science.
A minimum of five years of experience in conservation programs, project planning, and managing the implementation of projects involving multiple stakeholders.
Proven experience in land and watershed science, policy, and management, as well as experience overseeing project-level staff.
Strong understanding of the mission of NFF, familiarity with U.S. Forest Service practices, and extensive knowledge of forestry management in regions like Colorado and Wyoming.
The compensation for this position is competitive, with a salary range set between $72,433 to $111,870, depending on experience and inning of the position. Benefits included with this role are robust:
