Job Responsibilities

As a Senior Data Engineer, the responsibilities will include:

  • Serving as the core of Kobie's data platform, ensuring reliable operations of ETL/ELT pipelines and other technical components of their data warehouse.
  • Translating client requirements into production-ready data models that will be utilized for reporting and client service.
  • Diagnosing and resolving data pipeline failures quickly, promoting data reliability and trustworthiness.
  • Building a data architecture that is capable of adapting to changes and supporting new applications without disrupting existing operations.
  • Collaborating with the innovation team to deliver the data infrastructure required for AI-powered loyalty products.
  • Enhancing data pipelines through automated testing and proper documentation to facilitate better maintenance.

Required Skills

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering with the following qualifications:

  • At least 6 years of experience in data engineering with a focus on designing and operating production-grade data pipelines.
  • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with Snowflake as the primary data warehousing solution, demonstrating fluency in data sharing and associated tools.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, and JavaScript, especially for data transformation and automation.
  • Experience with CI/CD practices using platforms like GitHub.
  • Familiarity with data replication tools (Kafka, GoldenGate, etc.) and various data architecture patterns, including OLTP and Data Vault.
  • Understanding of Kimball dimensional modeling and experience integrating diverse data sources including APIs and streaming platforms.
  • Capability to design event-driven architectures that shape the development of data pipelines.
  • Experience with cloud services such as Azure and/or AWS is a plus.
  • Independence and strength in communication, especially when engaging with non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with the following experience will be favored:

  • Experience in a terabyte-scale, multi-client data warehouse environment.
  • Familiarity with data replication tools like Qlik Replicate.
  • Knowledge or exposure to AI workflow integration in data warehousing applications.
