Role Responsibilities

As a Tech Lead for Android Core Product, you will:

• Own significant features and collaborate closely with the design team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality features.
• Shape the future of the Android team by maintaining and improving reliability metrics for key app features.
• Participate in discussions that span across multiple teams, including Product, Design, and Engineering.
• Provide support to teammates by reviewing pull requests and troubleshooting critical issues.
• Take charge of feature releases and ensure that nightly builds are available for the QA team.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

To excel in this position, you should possess:

• A minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience with a solid grasp of Android components.
• Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.
• Strong product design intuition and user-centric empathy.
• Ambition to push the boundaries of Android UI/UX.
• Familiarity and proficiency in tools and frameworks, specifically Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, among others.
• A commitment to writing tests and a self-driven spirit to enhance the app beyond the outlined specification.

Additional Skills Preferred

Although not strictly necessary, candidates with the following are encouraged to apply:

• Experience in building, maintaining, or contributing to open source projects in Android.
• Knowledge of technologies such as iOS, Web, or NodeJS is a bonus.
