Job Location
The position offers the flexibility of remote work to candidates based in Canada and the USA, with a preference for those located in the Eastern Standard Time (EST) zone.
Key Responsibilities
Architecting and enhancing the AWS infrastructure for Cloudbeds.
Contributing to the development and management of the Kubernetes platform.
Automating the cloud platform with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management.
Driving engineering projects forward to successful deployment in production.
Supporting and improving software development processes with CI/CD pipelines.
Advancing system security, reliability, scalability, and overall performance.
Assisting the development teams by sharing DevOps best practices and knowledge, especially regarding infrastructure and environment setup.
Participating in an on-call rotation to address potential production environment issues.
Required Skills and Experience
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or the equivalent in relevant experience.
At least three years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, particularly with AWS.
In-depth knowledge in Linux system administration.
Minimum two years of substantial experience in Kubernetes and Docker.
Proficiency in setting up and scaling Elastic Kubernetes (EKS) platforms.
Versed in application containerization and delivery methods.
Familiar with infrastructure-as-code tools, such as Terraform.
Experienced in designing, creating, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
Understanding of web application servers, databases, caching, and queuing technologies.
Ability to script in Bash/Python.
Competency in networking.
Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Team player with the ability to work independently in a global team environment.
Desirable Additional Qualifications
Experience in an Agile Scrum team utilizing Jira.
Familiarity with PCI-compliant environments.
Compensation
Prospective candidates for the Senior DevOps Engineer position can expect an annual compensation package that could reach up to $170,000, contingent upon their skills and experience.
