The Role

Bjak is seeking a Backend Developer to handle the creation of the core systems behind their AI Neobank app. This role is essential for engineers who excel in building reliable APIs, workflows, and robust financial product infrastructure that can scale across various markets and support millions of users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop backend services and APIs for various functionalities like onboarding, accounts, payments, transfers, and more.
• Design dependable systems that facilitate real customer transactions and various operational workflows.
• Integrate with internal frameworks, financial partners, payment solutions, AI services, and third-party platforms.
• Ensure backend quality concerning reliability, security, latency, observability, and incident management.
• Collaborate effectively with product, frontend, mobile, and AI teams to accelerate the launch of new features.
• Enhance existing systems by streamlining workflows and automating repetitive processes.

Required Skills

The ideal candidate should have:

• Strong backend engineering experience in production environments.
• A good grasp of APIs, databases, authentication, authorization, and integrations.
• Experience building services that cater to real customers or are used in substantive operations at scale.
• A strong mindset focused on debugging, reliability, security, and maintaining data quality.
• The ability to balance speed, accuracy, scalability, and maintainability in their solutions.
• Familiarity with fintech, payments, banking, KYC (Know Your Customer), and risk management is preferred but not required if the fundamental skills are strong.
