Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Performance Marketing Designer encompass several key areas:

Creative Production & Optimization

  • Produce high-performing static, video, and motion-based ad creatives tailored for paid social channels, predominantly on Meta.
  • Ensure that all created assets are in alignment with brand guidelines and campaign objectives.
  • Design multiple variants of creatives, including details such as hooks and layouts, informed by performance feedback and specific testing directions.
  • Translate client briefs into compelling visual concepts while proactively identifying risks and opportunities within those briefs.
  • Rapidly iterate creatives based on performance signals, client feedback, and insights from the media team to maintain their effectiveness.
  • Maintain consistency in creative messaging and visuals across various formats and funnels, ensuring a coherent brand presence.

Creative Collaboration & Strategic Contribution

  • Engage closely with paid media managers to synchronize creative direction with overall campaign goals and testing plans.
  • Participate actively in creative reviews and performance discussions, offering valuable insights and strategic contributions rather than merely focusing on deliverables.
  • Collaborate with marketers to refine creative strategies based on what has proven successful across accounts, formats, and target audiences.
  • Join client calls as necessary to clearly articulate creative decisions and rationales, as well as iteration plans regarding testing.

Operational Expectations

  • Track progress on assigned brand tasks and creative outputs efficiently, utilizing project management tools like ClickUp.
  • Manage multiple creative streams without sacrificing quality, consistency, or speed of execution.
  • Be prepared for last-minute changes without compromising the core quality of the creations produced.
  • Ensure organized documentation and creative files for both internal and client use, allowing for easy referencing.

Required Skills

  • 3–5 years of experience producing performance-focused creative within eCommerce, DTC, or paid media landscapes.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing paid social ad creatives that highlight clear performance intentions rather than just aesthetics.
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, and Figma.
  • The ability to articulate not just what makes creative work effective but also how it should evolve over time based on performance data.

Nice to Have Skills

  • Direct experience working with paid media teams or media buyers is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with various creative performance metrics including CTR, thumb-stop rate, CPA, and ROAS.
  • Experience utilizing AI or automation tools for accelerating creative workflows.
  • A light understanding of landing pages and conversion-focused design principles.
