Trupanion, a leader in medical insurance for cats and dogs in North America, is looking for Inbound Phone Sales Specialists. The role involves educating and enrolling customers in pet insurance policies. The company has a pet-friendly environment and promotes a culture of collaboration.

Position Summary and Schedule

The ideal candidate is a passionate pet lover with a drive to grow within a fast-paced sales environment. Trupanion offers a remote position for candidates anywhere in the US, with an option for a hybrid schedule. The standard work schedule is Thursday through Monday from 11:30am to 8:00pm PST. Training takes place over seven weeks from Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm PST.

Key Responsibilities

The job involves handling inbound warm leads, applying a consultative sales style, and tailoring insurance solutions to customers’ needs. Responsibilities include presenting policy benefits, maintaining call control, addressing customer questions, and effectively guiding the customer through the enrollment process.


Applicants should possess a minimum of two years of successful sales experience, excellent communication skills, and a customer-centric approach. Familiarity with the insurance industry, particularly pet insurance, and the ability to overcome sales objections are important. A goal-oriented mindset and proficiency in computer applications are essential, as is holding an active Property and Casualty license.

Compensation and Location

The based pay is $20 per hour with potential uncapped monthly bonuses. New hires receive Restricted Stock Units vesting over four years. The position is available to candidates across the US with the exception of Georgia, unless the candidate holds an active Property & Casualty license in that state.
